Leadership Roles at Wentworth
First Year Council:
During my first semester in the Fall of 2011, I was nominated to become a member of Wentworth's First Year Council. This was a group of selected first year students who met weekly to plan various events for other freshmen. The purpose of our group was to help integrate freshmen into the Wentworth community to assure that they felt welcome while on campus.
Wentworth Opening Week (WOW) Team Leader:
After having this experience, I decided to apply for other leadership positions on campus during the Spring of 2012. That summer, I became a Wentworth Opening Week Team Leader. Preparation for this position required two weeks of training, which included intense team building activities. Together as a team, myself and the rest of the WOW staff helped to orient the incoming class of 1,200 freshman, facilitating their first few days at Wentworth. This experience was so great that I chose to take the position again during the following Summers in 2013 and in 2014.
Student Admissions Ambassador:
During the Fall of 2012, I became a Student Admissions Ambassador. This is a weekly commitment to be a tour guide to perspective students and families interested in attending Wentworth. This position requires being extremely friendly and outgoing in order to interact with families, and potentially convince them to come to Wentworth. In addition to a weekly tour time, we also work at the Open Houses in the Fall and Accepted Students Days in the Spring. I held this position until my Senior year.
